ヘマタイトとは
ヘマタイトは、酸化鉄を主成分とする鉱物で、和名を赤鉄鉱といいます。金属光沢を持つ黒灰色の外観でも、粉末にすると赤褐色の条痕を示すのが特徴です。結晶、鱗片状、腎臓状など多様な形で産出します。一般には磁性が弱く、強い磁性を示す加工品は処理品の場合があります。
